A PSG player to save OL?

The statistics are already giving them no chance. With just 7 points on the board after 14 Ligue 1 games, Olympique Lyonnais look doomed, as no team has managed to stay up after such a poor start to the season since 1948. For many observers, the Lyonnais’ shortcomings and attitude are even more worrying.

However, OL received some good news at the start of the week: the DNCG has lifted the sanctions imposed on the club, and Les Gones will therefore be allowed to recruit this winter, within the limits of the new budget it has presented. The transfer budget will therefore be winger and a center-forward.

OL won’t have an easy time of it…

Several names are already being mooted, including Moroccan Nayef Aguerd and Algerian Saïd Benrahama, both with West Ham. And so much the worse for the African Cup of Nations, which would deprive OL of its two recruits for most of the winter. Nevertheless, the task looks set to be a difficult one for Lyon’s decision-makers. The same will be true in midfield, where Ligue 1’s bottom club are reportedly targeting Betis’ Argentine Guido Rodriguez and Milan’s Rade Krun. However, OL have few arguments to put forward and convincing the Parisian striker looks like a mission impossible.
