Following her return to the French women’s team with two Nations League victories over Portugal and Austria last month, Amandine Henry returned to Angel City FC and made it two starts in a row. The Californian outfit earned a valuable victory over the Houston Dash (1-2) last Sunday, and are now dreaming again.

Before the final day of the US league regular season, Angel City are 8th in the standings, but two points behind North Carolina, Gotham and Washington, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively, and one point behind OL Reign, 6th. The top six will go on to the NWSL finals, with the top two going straight to the semi-finals.

On Sunday, Henry and his Californian team-mates can catch the playoffs when they host the Portland Thorns, leaders in the standings and already assured of a place in the last four. At the signing of the former OL star last June, Angel City was 10th in the rankings (out of 12). A climb up the standings to the playoffs would be a great achievement.
