A big first for Bilal Coulibaly. This Tuesday evening, as part of the NBA preseason, the winger played his very first minutes for the Washington Wizards franchise. The Frenchman, drafted in seventh position by the Indiana Pacers franchise last June before being traded directly to his current franchise, scored a total of 5 points (2/4 on target, including 0/1 from three-point range) in 20 minutes of play. Not to mention 6 rebounds.

At the same time, the young basketball player, now aged just 19, also took the opportunity to show off his defensive skills, with 3 steals and a counter. In the end, Washington won by a wide margin against the Australian team Cairns Taipans (145-82).

Diabaté, Batum and Ntilikina also on the floor

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Utah Jazz (103-98). On this occasion, French pivot Moussa Diabaté played 23 minutes, scoring 9 points (2/7 on shots), 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 counters. Nicolas Batum, meanwhile, was more subdued. He played 16 minutes, with 6 points and 3 rebounds.

A fourth and final Frenchman was also on the floor on Tuesday evening. Frank Ntilikina lost with his Charlotte Hornets franchise to the Miami Heat (113-109). The Tricolor played just 9 minutes. This didn’t allow him to improve his statistics, with a 0/4 shooting record, including 0/3 from three-point range. Meanwhile, Théo Maledon was unable to play due to a shoulder injury. On Tuesday evening, the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets beat the Phoenix Suns 115-107.
