Les Bleues received five out of five. Beaten in last year’s final by Russia, the world runners-up are now inching closer to another final. Still unbeaten despite a shaky start against Angola, the French have never had a problem since their opening match against the African champions, who came close to drawing, and continued their flawless run on Friday, giving reigning Asian champions South Korea no chance (32-22). This was the fifth victory in five games for the Olympic champions, who are now virtually through to the quarter-finals. As usual in a match that won’t be a decider, the Tricolores, buoyed by the unleashed Orlane Kanor (7 goals in… 7 attempts) and the return of Laura Flippes (one goal), rehearsed their routines against the South Koreans, who had already been eliminated before the match kicked off and who scored the first three goals of the match before going on to score six in a row.

Les Bleues irr├ęsistibles apr├Ęs la pause

Once they got going (it took France five minutes to score their first goal), Les Bleues never let up, and not content with a five-goal lead at the break (17-12), thanks in particular to the saves of Laura Glauser (7 saves at 37%) they ohis is further proof of the ambitions the French can harbor ahead of their first major test against Norway, and before perhaps reaching the last step once again. So far, so good.
