Kolo Muani, a painful observation

Twelve matches, including 7 starts and 4 goals for one. Sixteen matches, 9 starts and 3 goals for the other. These are the results of Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos since the start of the season with Paris Saint-Germain. Recruited this summer, the two players are now competitors for the starting centre-forward spot, as Luis Enrique rarely fields both men from the outset.

On Friday, against Monaco (5-2), it was Ramos who started and scored, while Kolo Muani also found the net after coming on. But it was perhaps the Portuguese who scored the most points. At least, that’s the opinionfully liberated by the fact that his option to buy has been exercised (contract runs until 2028). What’s more, it’s perfect for Kolo Muani, who comes in with his percussive qualities, benefiting more from opposing fatigue.

We’ll have to see if Luis Enrique maintains this hierarchy on Tuesday night against Newcastle. In the Champions League, Kolo Muani is the coach’s favorite, with four starts in as many games, while Ramos has only started once.
