PSG, a new shareholder arrives!

On Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain announced the acquisition of a minority stake by investment fund Arctos Partners. The sale of a minority stake in the club to American investors had been in the pipeline for several months. However, Qatar Sports Investiments (QSI) will retain control of the decision-making process.

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and Arctos Partners (Arctos) today announced a partnership and strategic investment agreement that will see Arctos acquire a minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), France’s most successful club and one of the world’s leading football brands.This will set a new benchmark in European soccer, reads a press release issued by the Paris-based club.

Although no official figures have been released, RMC Sport has put the value of the capital club at 4.25 billion euros. In 2011, QSI bought PSG for an estimated €70 million. Arctos’ minority stake could reach 12.5%.
