Cristiano Ronaldo has clearly lost none of his thirst for titles and recognition with his move to Saudi Arabia. We can see it in the goals the Portuguese is piling up with Al-Nassr, and in his behaviour on the pitch. But also with certain interactions on social networks.

This week, Ronaldo reacted to the ranking of the best players of 2023, published by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).

In what could be an announcement of the results of the trseries of emojis that say it all. No doubt he would have liked to have featured in this Top 10, having scored some 50 goals for Al-Nassr and Portugal this calendar year.

There’s nothing too crazy about the Top 10, even if we can’t help wondering what Lionel Messi has done, apart from winning the Leagues Cup with Inter Miami, to feature so highly in the ranking. But since the 2022 World Cup, the Argentine has enjoyed an exceptional aura, which no doubt makes Ronaldo a little jealous…
